Earlier this week, I was in the mood to watch a really lame chick flick type movie.  The other day, I had gone to Blockbuster to use my free e-coupon before it expired, and picked out a movie which I had heard was horrible, thereby making it perfect, and went home to watch it.  Well, my phone rang, I was busy with some other stuff, and I never watched it.

But, last night, I was completely unmotivated to do anything but sit on my couch and stare straight ahead for five hours, then go to bed, so I put the horrible chick flick in.

And I liked it.  A lot.

I watched The Holiday and enjoyed it.  Cameron Diaz's hair is so pretty, Jude Law's chin is so pointy, and Kate Winslet is so super cute.  I pretty much am Iris, Kate Winslet's character, and kind of despised Amanda, Cameron Diaz's character, but I really liked the movie way more than I should have.  Linnea had seen it in the theater with a friend of hers and told me to not waste my time with it.  But, I had that free e-coupon to use, and was kind of in the mood for a bad movie (does that happen to anyone else?).

It's kind of two romantic comedies that aren't strong enough to be their own movies put into one movie, and that's fine.  Iris befriends a little old man who rules, but we unfortunately have to see him in a swimming pool, shirtless, which does not rule.  Both their houses are awesome and perfect, but completely different, and they both, of course, learn life lessons.  Awww.

But it was the perfect lame movie for when you are in a sad mood and need to not think for a couple hours.  I give The Holiday two out of three Starbucks logos, for featuring lots of pretty blonde hair and some really cute little kids, but also making us look at a shirtless old man.
